PHEs with the specially designed Y-condenser allows the plate-type characteristics to be used without modification due to a heat surface design making it perfect for a wide range of condensation applications that can greatly contribute to plant optimization. As opposed to liquid/liquid heat exchangers, since this plate has been developed especially for condensers it has excellent functionality when applied to a wide variety of condensation tasks. The heat transfer coefficient of the YX series is twice that of shell and tube heat exchangers, and this high heat transfer coefficient is obtained because the condensing surface is constantly maintained due to a heat transfer pattern that immediately drains condensate outside of the exchanger. Additionally, these plates are constructed with large passage holes on the vapor side and in such a way as to reduce pressure loss in order to provide the functionality required for handling large amounts of vapor.
